How My Journey Began
Krystal D. Milam currently serves in the Biden-Harris Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy as the Legislative Affairs Assistant in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs. Previously, she served as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy and Designated Federal Officer for the Nuclear Energy Advisory Committee. Prior to joining the agency, she served as a Senior Legislative Assistant in the office of Former Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) where she managed a legislative portfolio and assisted the Congressman on House Appropriations Committee work. Krystal has also worked as a Policy Fellow for the House Committee on Ways & Means and as a Policy Advisor in the office of Former Congressman Alcee Hastings (FL-20). Krystal was a 2018-2020 Legislative STEM Fellow for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. She earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree from John Carroll University and a Masters of Legal Studies from Catholic University of America.
